The Lithuanian Road Cycling Championships take place on Wednesday in Kuldyga along with the Latvian champions.
I. ulesulienė, representative of the Italian team “Aromitalia – Basso Bikes – Vaiano”, covered a distance of 17 km in 24 minutes. 20.3 sec. (Average speed – 41.9 km / h). Inga became the national champion of the event in 2013 and 2021. As in 2020, the silver medal was won by Akvilė Gedraitytė (Dubai Police +1.23.4) and the bronze by triathlon Inga Paplauskė (TRltonas, +1.30.9).
A. Mikutis, representing the Kaunas Sports School “Gaja” and the Estonian team “Ampler-Tartu 2024” recorded an impressive victory. The 20-year-old cyclist covered a distance of 34 kilometers in 42 minutes. 17.5 sec. (Average speed – 48.2 km / h) and 5.1 sec. Overcame the 2020 and 2021 national championships Evaldas Šiškevičius (Go Sport Roubaix Lille Metropole).
After running half distance, Evaldas, 33, beat Aivaras by two seconds. Last year, Evaldas came in first and Aivaras came in second. They were then separated by 7.4 seconds.
Venantas Lašinis (Kaunas / Klaipėdos “Viesulo” SC, +1.36,3) won bronze for the third year in a row.
“I am very happy. Victory is my main goal. This course is very difficult, similar to the 2020 European Championships in France.

Among cyclists from Latvia and Lithuania, A. Mikutis came in second. It went to Tomas Skujinis (Trek-Segafredo), who represented the team of the highest UCI division since 2016.
Last Sunday, A. Mikutis won the Baltic and Lithuanian Youth Under-23 Championship. Aivaras overtook all 42 rivals.
For the third year in a row, Rokas Kmieliauskas (Kaunas SM “Gaja” / “Team Metalced”) became the national champion of the country’s youth race (under 23) (34 km) – 45 minutes. 11.1 sec. (Average speed – 45.1 km / h). Gyygymantas Matuzevičius (Sostinės SC / Philippe Wagner Cycling, +1.24,1) came in second and Aristidas Kelmelis (Kaunas SM “Gaja”, +3.12,4) came in third.
Among the young girls (11 km) Skaistė Mikašauskaitė (Šilalė SM / DSK “Kvėdarna”) wins – 17 minutes. 22.4 sec. (Average speed – 38 km per hour). Second place went to Eglė Dubauskaitė (Panevėžys Raimundo Sargūnos SG, +34.7 sec) and third place to Kotryna Strakšytė (Utena DSC, +42.2 sec).
Rokas Adomaitis (Cannibal team) wins individual race for young boys (17km) – 22 minutes. 5.8 sec. (Average speed – 46.2 km per hour). Silver was won by Jomantas Venckus (Šilalė SM / DSK “Kvėdarna”, +16.3 seconds) and bronze – by Aironas Gerdauskas (+47.1 seconds). Kristupus Mikučius (ėilalė SM / DSK “Kvėdarna”) defending the winner was unlucky. He fell during the race and was only ranked eighth.
Thirty-five cyclists took part in personal time races for women, men, youth, girls and boys. Fourteen other Lithuanians participated in the children and youth races (excluding the championships).
