Eight players from Žalgiris are preparing for the official match and managing the Lithuanian national team next week.
The men’s team will be represented by goalkeeper Edvinas Gertmons and defender Saulius Mikoliūnas.
Thursday from 9:45 p.m. Lithuania will face the Faroe Islands in the UEFA Nations League. The away game in Luxembourg awaits on Sunday.
Motiejus Burba, striker Meinardas Mikulėnas, as well as defender Nojus Stankevičius from Zalgiris, who were loaned to the “Jonavas”, went to the U-21 squad. Gustas Jarusevicius was also invited, but he will not be able to help the team due to injury.
On Friday, the Lithuanian national team will play the Kaunas Žalgiris in Kaunas and on September 27 they will face the Hungarian youth team in Budapest.
The UEFA U-19 Championship Group 6 qualifiers will take place in Romania from 21 to 27 September.
Defenders Džiugas Aleksa, defenders Kajus Bička and Dariushas Stankevičius will play in the U-19 squad.
Lithuania on September 21 will play Austria on September 24. Against Romania and September 27 – Against Latvia.
The first two teams in the group and the third best team in the entire selection will advance to the next round.
Last week, galgiris also represented the U-17 national team. Goalkeeper Joris Aliukonis and midfielder Nikita Pavlovskij play in a management match against Slovakia.
Earlier this month, Dovas Elzbergas, Vykintas Bazys, Simas Civilka and Romualdas Jansons joined the U-18 national team camp.
